========Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV)========
Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV). A novel coronavirus (nCoV) is a new strain that has not been previously identified in humans.

Coronaviruses transmitted between animals and people. SARS-CoV was transmitted from civet cats to humans and MERS-CoV from dromedary camels to humans.

☞ Common signs of infections:
1. Respiratory symptoms
2. Fever
3. Cough
4. Shortness of breath
5. Breathing difficulties.
6. Pneumonia
7. Severe acute respiratory syndrome
8. Kidney failure, and even death.

☞ Standard recommendations to prevent spread:
1. Regular hand washing
2. Covering mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing,
3. Thoroughly cooking meat and eggs.
4. Avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness such as coughing and sneezing.

☞ Wash your hands frequently with an alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water it kills the virus if it is on your hands.

☞ Maintain social distancing - maintain at least 1 meter (3 feet) distance between yourself and those who are coughing, sneezing and have a fever. Coughs or sneezes they project small droplets containing the virus. If you are too close, you can breathe in the virus

☞ Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
Hands touch many surfaces that can be contaminated with the virus. If you touch your eyes, nose or mouth with your contaminated hands, you can transfer in the virus.

☞ If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early.

☞ Whenever you have fever, cough, and difficulty breathing it’s important to seek medical attention promptly.

========Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)========
SARS was recognized at the end of February 2003. WHO co-ordinated the international investigation with the assistance of the Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network and worked closely with health authorities in the affected countries to provide epidemiological, clinical and logistical support as required.

========Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV)========
The first MERS-CoV case in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was reported in July 2013. Since then, UAE has reported 91 cases of MERS-CoV (including these cases) and 12 associated deaths. From 2012 until 15 January 2020, the total number of MERS-CoV infection cases reported globally is 2506 with 862 associated deaths.

☞ Common signs of infections: (MERS-CoV)
Infection with MERS-CoV can cause severe disease resulting in high mortality. Humans are infected from direct or indirect contact with dromedary camels. This infection can occur after exposure to dromedary camels, animal products (for example, consumption of camel’s raw milk), or humans.

☞ Standard recommendations to prevent spread:
1. Symptoms of acute respiratory infection
2. Contact precautions and eye protection should be added when caring
3. Airborne precautions should be applied when performing aerosol-generating procedures.

☞ MERS-CoV causes severe disease:
1. Diabetes
2. Renal failure
3. Chronic lung disease
4. Immunocompromised persons.

☞ Therefore, these people should avoid
1. Close contact with animals
2. Particularly dromedary camels, when visiting farms, markets, or barn areas.
3. Regular hand washing before and after touching animals
4. Avoiding contact with sick animals.

☞ Food hygiene practices:
1. Avoid drinking raw camel milk or camel urine
2. Eating meat that has not been properly cooked.
